SQL has instructions for:
- Define the schema of a relational basis did ati;

The language statements can be divided into:
- DML (Data Manipulation Language)
- DDL (Data Definition Language)

Examples of DML:
- SELECT
- INSERT
- UPDATE
- DELETE

Examples of DDL:
- CREATE, ALTER, DROP TABLE
- CREATE, ALTER, DROP VIEW
- CREATE, DROP INDEX
- COMMIT and ROLLBACK
